Computerised Practice

Air Balloon Surgery was one of the first practices to become “computerised” in the late 1980s, lead by former partner Dr Chris Payne, who had a particular interest and expertise in this field.  Since then, Air Balloon Surgery’s IT systems have continued to develop. The practice has a policy of electronically storing and sharing clinical and non clinical information. As part of a continuing programme of reducing paperwork, all consultations are recorded electronically, and clinical data is either electronically received and managed or scanned in.  The IT systems are fully networked, using Synergy clinical software and windows based appointment system Frontdesk.  GPs are able to initiate many secondary care referrals on-line using Choose and Book. There are many benefits to a high level of computerised working which helps us to provide good quality care to patients.
