Self referrals
There are a number of services locally that you are able to make self referrals to.
- Carers
- Drugs and alcohol
- Exercise
- Maternity
- Mental health
- Sexual health
- Stop smoking
- Young carers
- Youth counselling
- Weight management
If you are awaiting a referral, you should have had confirmation of your referral from the hospital within 6 weeks. Here are some useful numbers for the different departments:

- Other scans (ultrasounds, CT, MRI) – 0300 3000089
- Musculoskeletal and Physiotherapy – 0117 3302659
If it does not fit into the above categories, please email bnssg.IT.ABS@nhs.net to check the referral has been received by the hospital. We will not be able to change the urgency of the referral or book your appointment via this route.
